Put on the rubber gloves.

Move lightweight furniture and rugs out of the room.

Gather your supplies.

Choose the floor cleaner according to the floor (Detergents, Floor Cleaner, Liquid Dish Soap or Ammonia)

Sweep or vacuum the floor.

Open the windows.

Fit the mophead to the mop handle.

Adjust the height of the mop handle so the top is just below your chin.

Fill the 2 buckets with water.

In one of the buckets add the floor cleaner to the water, following the instructions in the container.

Place your bucket in the end of the framed area where it cannot be tripped over.

Dip the mop in the bucket and wring it out.

The mop should be saturated but not dripping.

Stand with the feet apart to distribute your weight evenly.

Hold the mop at a slight angle from the vertical and keep the mop handle close to your body.

Start mopping with the corner furthest away from the exit and move backward toward the door.

Frame a small area to be mopped up to the baseboards.

Mop the floor edges using a straight stroke, where there are skirting boards mop these at the same time.

Then mop the middle of this framed area from side-to-side using a figure-eight swing of the mop.

Overlap each stroke as you move back, turning the mop over often.

Work backwards so you won’t have to walk on the rinsed floor.

Scrub stubborn spots.

Repeat this mopping method until the entire framed area is completed.

When the mop is visibly soiled, rinse the mophead in the fresh water bucket.

Wring out the mophead thoroughly and continue mopping.

Depending on the cleaning supplies you are using you can do it with your hands, into the bucket device or using a lever near the mop head.

Replace the water and the cleaning solution in the buckets as needed.

Again dip mophead into cleaning solution and repeat the procedure until floor has been wet mopped.

Mop the floor with fresh water to rinse it.

Let the floor dry before walking, polishing or applying wax.

After the floor has dried, put the furniture and rugs back in its place.

Rinse or wash the mophead.

Rinse and wipe the inside and outside of the bucket.

Put away the cleaning supplies.

Remove gloves and wash your hands.
